HOSTING EVENTS ON WVLT PROPERTY
NOTE: The Wallkill Valley Land Trust (WVLT) properties cannot be closed at any time for any event.
WVLT has continued to balance the needs of all our users with those groups wishing to hold an organized event or special activity on the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, Joppenbergh Mountain, and Nyquist-Harcourt Wildlife Sanctuary. Please read our requirements for holding events on our properties, which describes the approval process as well as the guidelines for use.
If you are hosting a published event on one of WVLT’s properties which will be less than 25 people total (event staff and participants combined) we still recommend registering the event with us so we can assure there are no conflicting large events in the section of the trail you intend to use and we can update you if there are trail closures in the area.
NOTE: Policy and application updated for 2023 to reflect increased pressure of use and event interests. Please review each carefully.
Step 1: Read Event Policy
Step 2: Fill out Event Application Form
Step 3: WVLT will reach out to you once your application has been reviewed. Please allow 2 to 4 business days for a response.
Step 4: Submit Damage Deposit and Application Donation Fee
WVLT depends completely on individual donations to maintain our public properties. Please consider making an additional contribution, which is a tax-deductible donation, to support the ongoing maintenance costs of the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, Joppenbergh Mountain, and the Nyquist-Harcourt Wildlife Sanctuary.
