Williams Lake, Past, Present & Future – Encore! - Saturday, October 8th at 10 AM (Rain Date. Sunday the 9th)

A walking tour exploring the history of one of the area’s most compelling landscapes. 
Explore the historic Williams Lake property and learn about its long history. From the famous Rosendale cement used in building the Brooklyn Bridge to the Williams Lake Hotel that created holiday memories for so many families, the area has such a rich past and vital present. We will meet at Williams Lake property, Williams Lake Rd off of Binnewater Rd, Rosendale.  There is also access from the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail.

Participants should be comfortable walking for an extended period of time and should bring bug/tick repellent, water and comfortable walking shoes.

About Brian Cafferty:

Brian is a native of the town of Rosendale and now resides in the city of Kingston. As a life-long local resident, he is very knowledgeable and takes a keen interest in the rich history of the area. He has a BA in Psychobiology from SUNY New Paltz, is one the founding members of the Century House Historical Society in Rosendale NY and is one of its former Board members. Brian was also a former member of the Rosendale Town Council and is currently a member of the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail Committee of the WVLT. He is also an Associate Real Estate Broker at Halter Associates Realty in Kingston and has been the Public Outreach Coordinator for the Williams Lake Project in Rosendale since 2010.
