WVLT’s Celebrate Trails Day – Bike Ride Relay - Saturday, April 22, 2023

Join us on one of the three socially paced group rides to cover the entire 22 miles of the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, with each group covering one portion of the trail. All riders must have a helmet, working bike, repair kit, water and snacks. Please read the descriptions below for locations, times, and distances of each ride. Registration is closed.

Kingston to Rosendale Trestle

    • Meet in the parking lot at Rockwell Lane and Route 32
    • Wheels roll at 10 a.m.
    • This group will ride the Northern Section, turning around at the Rosendale Trestle
    • Total distance is about 12 miles, about 2-3 hours with stops to look at rocks and beautiful views
    • Limit 15 people

New Paltz to Rosendale Trestle

  • Wheels roll at 10 a.m. in New Paltz at Sojourner Truth Park (Plains Road – kayaking launch)
  • We will ride north to the Rosendale Trestle and back to New Paltz
  • About 15 miles round trip
  • Possibly some bird watching stops
  • Limit 10 people

Gardiner to New Paltz

  • Meet in the Rail Trail Parking Lot on Main Street in Gardiner
  • Wheels roll at 12 p.m.
  • Riders will head north to New Paltz stopping at either Sojourner Truth Park (11 Miles round trip)
  • Depending on the group, the leader will offer an extended ride to the Spring Town Bridge (16 mile round trip) then return to Gardiner. For those who want the bragging rights, the ride leader will take south to mile 0.0 and back to Gardiner again (Extra 4 miles).
