Vernal Pools and Amphibians - April: VIRTUAL

Walk & Talk
Vernal Pools and Amphibians

Join the NYS DEC Hudson River Estuary Program’s Conservation and Land Use Program Coordinator Laura Heady Saturday, April 11th starting at 10 am to learn more about the important roles amphibians play in nature, and how to identify various species and their behavior.

As the breeding activity of wood frogs, spotted salamanders, and Jefferson-blue spotted salamanders complex starts to wind down, it is an excellent time to explore woodland pools and look for signs of courtship. This event will provide a basic introduction to woodland pool ecology and identification of pool-breeding wildlife. Registration is required.
